Directions to Squawk & Skedaddle Campground

The Newest Schulenburg, TX RV Park

Squawk and Skedaddle Campground is conveniently located just out of town, but is quite easy to get to.  Since one of our best attributes (being out of town among the cows and woods!) also makes for winding roads, we wanted to make sure that our guests arriving in RVs knew the best route to take to get here safely.

RV Safe Ways to Arrive to SNS Campground

Directions from the north:  The nearest town to the north is La Grange (Intersection of US 77 and Hwy 71).

Heading south from La Grange, be mindful of the curves after you cross over the Colorado River.  You'll reach Squawk and Skedaddle Campground in about 30 minutes through scenic country.  This way is fine for an RV, just be aware.

As you head south, you'll see a sign that has "Swiss Alp" - don't turn here, but start looking for FM 956 heading west (to the right).

This road is a little curvy but perfectly safe for an RV.

When you get to FM 956, take a right and proceed until you get to FM 2238, then take a left.

Drive for a few minutes and you'll see the sign for Bryant Road.  Be on the lookout, because the road comes up quick to the left after the sign.

Turn left on Bryant Road - Squawk and Skedaddle Campground will be on your right.

If you'd rather not deal with the curves, view the routes below from the east - it's a straight shot.

Directions from the east:  The nearest town to the east is Weimar (I-10 Exit 682). There's a Love's Truck Stop there if you want to fuel up.

If you want to come in on US 90, exiting at the intersection of I-10 and US 90 (Exit 677).  Take a left at the exit on to Highway 90.  You'll reach Schulenburg in about 6-7 minutes.

Continue straight on Highway 90 through Schulenburg - about 5 minutes after you pass Schulenburg, you'll see the sign for Bryant Road on the right.  You'll want to slow down to take that turn in an RV, but Bryant Road is pretty straight after that.

The campground is 2.2 miles on the left from the time you turn on to Bryant Road.

If you're coming straight to Schulenburg, you can come straight in to Exit 674 on Interstate 10.  If you're in an RV, Pilot Truck Stop is just on the northeast side of that intersection - you can't miss it.  Pilot has a Taco Bell, and if you turn left on 77 (going south under the interstate), you'll see Whataburger on the left and Dairy Queen on the right.  Of the two, Whataburger has the biggest parking lot.

Head south on US 77 and take a right on Hwy 90.  Continue straight on Highway 90 through Schulenburg - about 5 minutes after you pass Schulenburg, you'll see the sign for Bryant Road on the right.  You'll want to slow down to take that turn in an RV, but Bryant Road is pretty straight after that.

Directions from the south:  The nearest town to the south is Hallettsville (Intersection of US 77 and Alternate Hwy 90).

Heading north from Hallettsville,  you'll reach Schulenburg in about 20 minutes through scenic country.  This way is fine for an RV, but you'll want to to make sure to take Loop 222 to avoid the underpass (height 13' 8") on US 77.  To get to the Loop, look for the sign to the left just before Schulenburg.

Follow 222 to Hwy 90 and take a left. Continue straight on Highway 90 through Schulenburg - about 5 minutes after you pass Schulenburg, you'll see the sign for Bryant Road on the right.  You'll want to slow down to take that turn in an RV, but Bryant Road is pretty straight after that.
